Simplify skipper management
Skipper Agency is a web application designed to simplify how professional skippers are booked and managed for sailing charters. It acts as a central platform connecting guests, skippers, and charter agencies in one coherent system.
The product focuses on reducing operational overhead, improving transparency, and creating a smoother end-to-end experience for all parties involved in the booking process.

The primary challenge was designing for three distinct user groups - guests, agencies, and skippers, each with different goals, responsibilities, and expectations. Each role required its own workflows, permissions, and decision points.
The complexity lay in consolidating these parallel journeys into a single product without creating confusion, duplication, or unnecessary friction, while still keeping the interface intuitive and approachable.

The visual identity is centred around a bespoke pictogram inspired by a nautical knot, which can also be interpreted as a modified letter “S”. The flowing, wavy form reflects movement at sea and reinforces the brand’s maritime context.
Nautical knots are widely recognised symbols of reliability, familiarity, and connection, values that align closely with the Skipper Agency service. The mark is designed to scale and adapt across digital touchpoints.

The product solution balances clarity and functionality through a restrained, professional interface. Clear hierarchy, prominent calls to action, and predictable interaction patterns help users move confidently through complex flows.
Progressive disclosure is used to surface only what is relevant at each step, reducing cognitive load while still supporting advanced tasks such as approvals, availability management, and booking coordination.

The platform is structured around role-based experiences, with dedicated dashboards and permissions for guests, agencies, and skippers. Shared components such as calendars, profiles, and booking summaries ensure consistency across the system.
Conditional flows handle approvals, rejections, and confirmations between users, allowing complex interactions to be managed cleanly without fragmenting the overall experience.

The final product significantly reduces skipper management effort for agencies and improves booking efficiency for guests. Skippers gain clearer visibility of availability, requests, and expectations, enabling faster responses and better planning.
Overall, the platform delivers a unified, trustworthy service that supports operational scale while maintaining a calm, user-friendly experience aligned with the maritime domain.
